Important Travel Information
For guests traveling from the USA or Australia, the easiest option is to fly into London Heathrow (LHR).
From LHR, take the Heathrow Express* train to London Paddington. From Paddington, take a GWR Train** to Taunton. Taunton is the most convenient major railway station for Midelney Manor, approximately a 30–40 minute drive from the venue. We recommend arranging a rental car, taxi or pre-booked transfer.
For guests traveling from Europe, Bristol Airport is the closest airport to the venue, approximately one hour away by car. Midelney Manor is in the countryside, so having access to a car will make getting around much easier.
*Heathrow Express can be booked in advance or on the day. After baggage claim and customs, follow signs to Heathrow Express. It runs every 15 minutes and takes about 10 minutes to get to Paddington Station.
**GWR Trains can be VERY expensive on the day. Please book in advance to avoid paying double!
GETTING HERE
Most visitors traveling on a U.S., Australian or European passport do not need a traditional tourist visa for a short visit, but they must obtain a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before traveling. British and Irish citizens do not need an ETA. Requirements vary by nationality, so please confirm what applies to you using the official UK Government website.
